Some of my friends shared comments on one of my outraged friend's post about the adjunct professor. Allegedly she goes by exmofeminista in online forums and got two tattoos a few days ago, which are about LGBT pride. I'm getting the impression that she was on her way out long ago.

P.S. — I’ve just been told that this part-time BYU-I instructor has been posting for some time on a virulently apostate ex-Mormon message board as “exmofeminista,” using occasionally quite ripe language to describe her efforts to create a space for herself outside of the Church. That puts this unfortunate little episode in a rather significantly different light, I think.

I saw that earlier today and my first impression was that BYU Idaho had done something dumb, but then I read the post that she made. You can't call out the church so directly and so aggressively like that and expect to remain employed at BYU anywhere. Furthermore she is not regular faculty but an adjunct prof., i.e., an instructor on a temporary contract. Those folks are given a very short leash.

I agree that she had to expect potential job ramifications with what she posted. I think anytime that you say something in support of LGBTQ as a church employee you are are walking a thin line.

You really consider that aggressive and directly calling out the church? It seemed pretty tame to me.

To be honest, I'm not sure why this is even news anymore. The same goes with the testimony thing with the 12-year old. The LDS church is shitty to LGBTQ people and those that support them. It just is and we don't need any more data points to prove it. Yes, I realize it is "getting better" at a glacial pace.

Hey Porter Rockwell worked as a bartender and he was a member in good standing, why can't exmofeminista be in good standing as a bartender. Brigham Young may not have been a bartender, but he owned a whiskey distillery.

If it is good enough for them, our friend LGBTQ supporting friend should be fine being a bartender.
