  • For all those who still side with Bundy and blame Obama for the standoff, may you receive the same delayed justice Bundy did, should you ever decide to evade the law like he did.

You going to offer some real analysis here, or just continue to act aloof from the peanut gallery?

Aloof? It's an honest question. What's wrong with asking a question while offering absolutely no opinion on the subject? I'm not trying to inject my slant on the conversation, I'm asking if it's possible.

I'm guessing the Bush administration killed some cattle.

Let's see, we have learned that political indignation amuses you and you are wondering why people can't be as balanced and even-handed as you are. That's super interesting!

I would love to. I'm surrounded by Bundy supporters and I've sincerely tried to understand where they're coming. I just don't get it. I have yet to hear an honest and reasonable defense of his position that I can get behind. I've heard plenty of lies from them. I've heard seditious and crazy rhetoric from them. I've seen some frankly scary people align themselves with them. And now they're drawing beads on civilian employees. This seems to be one of those times when one side is just plain wrong.

If you don't recognize the government where you live and brazenly disobey its laws, while spouting off anti-US rhetoric and threatening violence to civilians, how are you anything but a terrorist and an enemy? If you don't like term, quit meeting its definition. Reid is right in this case.

We also learned that dabrockster isn't confident enough to defend his political positions.

                    • I just lost a lengthy post about the Townsend Acts and John Hancock, Shay's Rebellion, and Thomas Jefferson. No way I'm typing that again.

                        The gist? I'm interested.

First of all, why does my amusement bother you? Blind indignance on issues you, me, or anyone on this board couldn't possibly understand by simply reading a handful of reports amuses me. Watching people dissemble amuses me. Watching people getting mocked for their opinion by those on the other side of the issue amuses me.

I'm not passionate about this issue is the first reason why I haven't opined yet. You're the second.

Secondly, counselor, if you could show me where I stated I was balanced and even-handed wrt to this issue I would appreciate it.

                          • Oklahoma militia joins in.

                            http://rt.com/usa/154048-oklahoma-mi...s-bundy-ranch/

Now, though, members of the Oklahoma militia are saying the claim against Bundy is illegal, and that they would stand alongside the Nevada rancher even if it meant taking up arms against the federal government.

“Evidently in America we don’t actually own the property anymore if you ever did,” militia member Scott Shaw told local news station KFOR. “It’s up to the feds. The ball’s in their court! You can do this legally or if you want to try to do a land grab violently, you can do that. We’re going to resist you!”
Legally? Such as follow due process and get a court order? I.e., exactly what they did?

How people taking up arms against government officials can lecture about behaving legally is beyond me. These people are stupid and dangerous.

You seemed confused by my use of the word "aloof". Given your response here, that surprises me.

                              Enjoy the peanuts!

Kind of an odd question (and hypocritical) if you don't consider yourself one of these fair-minded reasonable adults.

Their Sen. Jim Inhole spelled out for you in the article...
Speaking to KFOR, Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) said both sides were to blame for the current situation.

You’ve got a bunch of people there trying to take the law into their own hands and they shouldn’t be doing that. And the Bureau of Land Management is not government-owned, it’s publicly owned. There’s a big difference there. I blame both sides.”
