Yeah, maybe it is time to just change the name of BYU to The Lord's University. And take down the statues of Brigham Young given that he was racist and maybe even had a few slaves. It would also be nice to change the university policy on legally married gay folks to make it easier to get into a P5 conference. Well ok... we can keep the name BYU but at least change the policy for gay people."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Do you believe BYU would ever change the names of buildings named after racists or slave supporters, such as Abraham Smoot? Given the insensitivity to social movements, I would speculate that it would happen but, it's not a a god optic right now. I suppose the problem is the rampant number.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostYeah, maybe it is time to just change the name of BYU to The Lord's University. Call it Kimball University or LDS University.Last edited by Topper; 06-10-2020, 10:28 AM."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

You may have missed the memo - we're no longer LDS. I nominate The University of Jesus Christ.Originally posted by Topper View PostDo you believe BYU would ever change the names of buildings named after racists or slave supporters, such as Abraham Smoot? For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Former BYU professor charged with sexually abusing studentAh, the old use the priesthood to gain trust and say God told me so technique... I always told my daughters if a guy uses that sh*t on them then God is clearly telling them to kick him in the balls as hard as they can.“On one occasion, (Clay) gave the victim a priesthood blessing. On another occasion, (he) told the victim that he had prayed about her and felt inspired from God to engage in physical contact with the victim,” according to charging documents."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Not sure if this should go here or the coronavirus thread, but Danny Ainge's boy handling business like a BOSS.
https://www.lehifreepress.com/2020/0...ds-over-masks/
Ainge entered the max capacity chambers and made a brief statement before walking out of the meeting.
“This is going to be brief; I think. This is the exact opposite of what we need to be doing. We are supposed to be physically distancing and wearing masks. This room is not complying with health guidelines and this creates a health concern. I’m going to suspend the rules and motion to continue this entire meeting at another date,” said Ainge.
