I don't know (or care) ... and no.

Where did I discount anything? I have no doubt that what she is reporting is accurate. I just think it is humorous that this is what she came away from conference with. Despite what gets said in the tiny bubble here, very few people give a crap about any of this stuff. It's no wonder the SLTrib is firing all its reporters.

I finally had a little time to look at this thread. Good grief. Here is the progressive Mormon strategy: Find a GA to build a fire wall around and lionize as a courageous voice in the wilderness. Nevermind that he was ensconced at the top of the hierarchy during the institution's most embarrassing and regrettable times. Hence: Examples of good GAs are: Joseph Smith, David O. McKay, Hugh B. Brown. Bad GAs: Brigham Young, Joseph F. Smith, E.T. Benson, McKonkie, Packer. Now I see that Pres. Monson is a good GA; amazingly, he gets a pass on Prop 8. Prop 8 is all Pres. Hinckley's doing, though he was dead for what? a year before Prop. 8? He's now a bad GA. Uchtdorf is now the new Hugh B. Brown.

FWIW, my personal favorites are Smith and Benson.

This is just plain awesome. You need to swear off ub5. Your best will always be here.
            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I sustain them all as prophets, seers and revelators. Totally blows up your ProgMo stereotype.

Yeah. "Golden." That's the word I was looking for.

I bet she's one hell of a Relief Society President.

Did you know that aside from being the original Prog-Mo, he once disguised himself as a tramp to recover the bodies of two murdered missionaries from a mob in Tennessee? I believe there is even a picture of him in his get-up somewhere in the church archives or something.

                            There's some truth in this.

It is my hope and prayer that all those who have had their feelings hurt by GA's will find a way to get over it, move on and have a productive life whether that be as a member of the LDS faith or not.

May I suggest maybe a cathartic letter or two.
