I have a present for you. One of my favorite LDS sermons ever. Maybe the best part is: "We have to draw a distinction between women who work outside the home because they have to, and women who do it because they want to. Ladies, those of you who want to, you're wicked, bad mothers!"

You are right. Circumstances have changed from the old place to the here and now. For both of us, it would seem.

That is a great sermon. My favorite part was the emphasis on the importance of making sure we teach principles and commandments in terms of the plan of redemption. Very helpful in some concerns I have had about helping my children with some of their obedience struggles. You are an answer to my prayers.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. How do you best suggest to keep a wife in check? Rule of thumb or some other means.

righteous exercise of priesthood authority usually works for me

Using Priesthood to keep a woman in check, sounds like either unrighteousness dominion or the claims about oppression of women in the church are true.

You just don't understand. The oppression is what makes them so great. Like the string on a kite.

I guess this is one thing that I will just never understand.
