It looks like the men's auxillary leadership photos were done in a studio with a backdrop. The women's were all done outside (I assume on temple grounds). I wonder if that was the women's choice or a last minute decision (i.e. Hey sisters, come outside we want to take your picture).Originally posted by Northwestcoug View Post"Friendship is the grand fundamental principle of Mormonism" - Joseph Smith Jr.

I also liked this. I appreciate anything that doesn't use the words anti-Christ, feminazi, devil-worshipper, or baby-killer after this week. Because supporting women's ordination is totes the same thing as all those.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

Sh*t just got real. My wife is beside herself with anger today. I just saw her light up somebody in our stake for posting a link to a pretty lame blog and saying that all the OW people just need to pray about it more or something. I didn't appreciate this post much except as a reflection of how I used to think when I thought I knew everything.Last edited by Pheidippides; 03-19-2014, 04:59 PM.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

On the other hand, you have folks insinuating that you're a bad parent (of daughters) if you don't support it, or don't care about it.Originally posted by Mrs. Funk View PostI also liked this. These type of "discussions" tend to bring out the worst in people...which is ironic since we have more in common than we don't."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I haven't seen much of the type of criticism you mention, but I acknowledge that I've been avoiding comments sections and internet "conversations" on the subject since Monday. I think wherever people stand on difficult topics, it's important to approach others from a place of love and compassion. It's possible to vigorously disagree and not insult people, whoever they are.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostOn the other hand, you have folks insinuating that you're a bad parent (of daughters) if you don't support it, or don't care about it.

This better mean that a father's room is coming to our local chapels...Originally posted by Mrs. Funk View Post"We put up pictures! What more do you uppity women want?!"

I think the idea of a parent's room is GENIUS. Like the rooms I've seen at other churches that have quiet toys and little tables for kids to color at, and a place to sit with napping babies. We're on the same page here, dude.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostThis better mean that a father's room is coming to our local chapels...

What discourages me to some point is the appearance that any concerns expressed tend to be responded in this fashion:Originally posted by Mrs. Funk View PostI think the idea of a parent's room is GENIUS. We are the Church's authorities and know what's best
Those who express themselves are not in concert with the Spirit (get in line)
Those who express any view different than ours are apostates to rot in hell
Nothing expressed has any validity
The response is almost always very, very defensive."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
