As I've been discussing with my family, my daughter shared this quote:Originally posted by swampfrog View PostI naturally avoid almost any type of confrontation, been dealing with it my whole life. Has its positives and negatives. I'd participate more but it takes more time and emotional energy than I usually can spare. I've gotten a lot out of reading/lurking here. Challenges to my beliefs and ways of thinking that have been beneficial. There are topics which are more personally motivating.

For the record, I don't know him personally, but we share a common ancestor, he's a distant cousin. My great, great, great, great grandfather after whom I am named is also his (might be one less great). Proving once again how fantastic the internet is at providing ridiculous amounts of personal information. I was able to track down the exact relationship within 10 minutes. Which I've always meant to do, but never got around to until now.Originally posted by Shaka View PostCan someone get Hopfrog to weigh in?

Hopefully that works for anyone that has an account, I can cut and paste if not. I don't think we both have the same path to our chosen monikers. Hop-Frog is from an E. A. Poe story. Swampfrog is a play on my surname, from what I remember Pogge or something similar is a word for frog in some language (Dutch, or something else from Northern Europe?) The story goes that some ancestor migrated to England (somewhere near Yardley, Birmingham) into an area that was a bog or a mire infested with frogs, and took the surname Puggmyre, or from the land of the frog swamp. The Americanized version is Pugmire. Could all be a story.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
