Probably. I mean who would ask an 8 year old such a question? Certainly not the church who claims 8 is the age of accountability (unless, of course, we're talking about sexuality, then even 12 is too young for accountability).Originally posted by BigFatMeanie View PostI'm pretty sure that the above statement is pure unadulterated horse shit.

I think the fact that people listen to this stuff means that a podcast by you and HBCoug about how to leave and just be a chill dude who people like would probably be huge. I'm already trademarking the idea so I can be your producer.Originally posted by Flystripper View Postwhat the...Get confident, stupid

It would end up being a podcast on hobbies that I think are fun, or hobbies I think that would be fun if I had the time. An anti church or anti religion hobby just does not sound like fun. I like fun. Fun is good.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostI think the fact that people listen to this stuff means that a podcast by you and HBCoug about how to leave and just be a chill dude who people like would probably be huge. Love those guys, but not enough controversy to be a hot podcast. People are drawn to drama.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostI think the fact that people listen to this stuff means that a podcast by you and HBCoug about how to leave and just be a chill dude who people like would probably be huge. True, I would need be to be controversial or super funny like a real comedian. HB Coug is super funny. It could probably work with him.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostLove those guys, but not enough controversy to be a hot podcast. People are drawn to drama.Dyslexics are teople poo...

Maybe HB could share some of the stories of his ex or some of the ladies he has taken to Hawaii. I'd listen to that.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostLove those guys, but not enough controversy to be a hot podcast. People are drawn to drama.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. That I think it's weird for a multbillion dollar organization to be threatened by a giggly 12 yr old girl? Nope, still weird.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostLol. So much for ER and TKDs theory.
Or are you saying she needed to consult the original documents and form her own opinion about Joseph Smith without parental input? Like your kids did?
Ha, touche. I don't think the last time I swung around had anything to do with the Church (I could be wrong...can't remember), but this time, that funny FAIR response popped up on my facebook feed, and I got a little curious at what CS was saying. This is becoming a less and less interesting question, so I doubt I'll come back again, but the taste test question made this one worth it. We're copying that.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostYou'll have to bookmark this post because neither of them will swing by for any posting until there is a negative story about Mormonism.
I haven't heard any interviews or really, anything, outside of the video, so maybe I'd change my mind about their intent if I did. I'm not curious enough to dive deeper into it, so I guess we'll agree to disagree. I agree in your opposition to unfair tactics, or using people for your own ends, so I'm adamantly opposed to the editing and distribution of this, but I'm not sure the parents were guilty of any unfair tactics. In general, I try to assume that people aren't dicks, and that they usually do bad things out of either ignorance or being put in a tough situation. I think the parents could be given this benefit of the doubt. I even think the SP counselor should be given the same. I'm sure that he, in any other circumstance, would have let her finish, and probably given her a big hug at the end, because that's what not-dicks do. Instead, he's been made into this evil villain figure, because he felt pressure to toe a line in a fight he otherwise probably couldn't give a rat's ass about. He's an adult, and sometimes adults have to do hard things, including standing up to your boss, or seriously considering what you're doing before you shut off about the most benign "attack" on the church I could imagine from a 12 yr old girl...so I'm not letting him totally off the hook, but he's also probably a really good guy, who was put into a really tough position.Originally posted by jay santos View PostI get involved with this stuff way more than I should. I'm on the side of the ProgMo's most of the time. I would like to see change in LGBT policies and doctrines. I'm more likely to take the critical side than the apologist side on a number of historical and political issues. But I'm really "triggered" by those, especially on the Exmo side but also on the faithful (usually Apologists) side, who manipulate situations, or use what I think are unfair tactics. Especially to embarrass or make fun of the church. I think this whole episode is crap.
Anyway, this is already way more energy than I ever wanted to put into this conflict among a bunch of people I don't know, so...cheers! See you in football season. At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I'm sure the Bishop was thinking of the church's bottom line, and not the spiritual welfare of his congregation, at the time he pulled the plug.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostThat I think it's weird for a multbillion dollar organization to be threatened by a giggly 12 yr old girl?
