When the YW president told me about it I asked her why she didn't just ask them to leave. Apparently it's a PH responsibility to kick missionaries out of YW classes?Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostDamn, those are some serious issues that need to be dealt with quickly. I am confused. Why does it matter where they attend?Originally posted by Moliere View PostWhen the YW president told me about it I asked her why she didn't just ask them to leave. Apparently it's a PH responsibility to kick missionaries out of YW classes?

I don't know what your YW president's problem is. When I was YM president the missionaries showed up to the lesser priesthood class once and I had them teach. While they were teaching I went and got some donuts.Originally posted by Moliere View PostWhen the YW president told me about it I asked her why she didn't just ask them to leave. Just out of curiosity, were the donuts just for you or for the class? Either way, seems like a justifiable course of action.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostI don't know what your YW president's problem is. Our bishop would prefer they attend RS so that the adults in the ward can get to know them better or at least see them. They are also apparently pretty disruptive during the YW lessons. Most YM leaders wouldn't care as much if tangents are taken during lessons, but YW leaders tend to care a bit about that. Also, because of the social awkwardness I think the YW leaders just don't want them there and so this is an easy way to get them out.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI am confused. Personally I have an issue with it as I don't want added pressure put on the YW to serve a mission. I want that option there for my daughters if they choose, but having the missionaries constantly attending and talking about their missions is a bit different in YW than it is in YM, where the boys are expected to serve.
There are other more private reasons, but the ones above are reason enough for me to support the bishop's wishes."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. I'd like to hear the private reasons. By the way, what happened to the rule that missionaries couldn't attend priesthood/relief society and sunday school unless they had an investigator present? Get out there and find people to teach!"Friendship is the grand fundamental principle of Mormonism" - Joseph Smith Jr.

Where have you been? Missionaries don't track any more. Heck, they even have iPads.Originally posted by Sullyute View PostBy the way, what happened to the rule that missionaries couldn't attend priesthood/relief society and sunday school unless they had an investigator present?
