If a couple consents, then whatever works for them, should be considered good, provided of course, they're not engaging in something that can kill them or harm themselves physically.

Your rejection of this activity sounds like it was impacted by the more conservative aspects of LDS culture. Or perhaps it sounds as if some aspects of puritanical perspective have somehow slipped into your upbringing.

As long as the activities are not illegal per se, or physically harmful, it doesn't seem there should be any, but I am a very liberal member of the culture so my voice does not speak for the mainstream, or conservative voices.

Is ClacksamaCoug's opinion the mainstream opinion that certain activities are dirty and hence should be excluded?

I suspect such perspective has been created in large part by historical anachronisms in American society at large and permeating LDS culture.

Occasionally, a wife may, for instance, attend a sporting event with the husband, not because she loves doing it, rather it shows the husband how much she loves him when she does things with him that are gratifying to him.

Also, on occasion, a man might, for intance, attend the Parade of Homes with the wife in order to show his love and affection for her.

On other occasions, the woman enjoys going to the games and the man enjoys exploring the Parade of Homes.

What I am saying is, neither the sporting event nor the Parade of Homes is demeaning.

Sometimes a woman needs you to take her to the Parde of Homes. I hope you give her what she wants.

I, for one, quite enjoy attending the Parade of Homes. It brings my wife immense joy and I am quite pleased myself when she is joyous.

Porn is not an interesting topic to me, but happiness is. Matters impeding happiness are matters of concern.

Although, I unwittingly stepped on toes here, my concern is more for those who might be impacted by cultural vestiges arising out of our more puritanical strains. Apparently, many here in authority do not believe those are real concerns.

The studies are sparse and difficult to determine how credible they are. One might automatically suspect the credibility of any study generated by BYU to support the official "Church" position. That doesn't mean the position is always wrong either.

I would find it interesting to see a discussion and debate, without resorting to testimony, why people believe the law of chastity is divine and not the result of ancient tribal influences culminating in a reinvigoration as a Victorian response to the anti-polygamy tendencies. As a footnote, arguing against the absolute nature of the law of chastity as currently enforced does not suggest a no-holds bar rule.

Perhaps that does not interest people either.

Portland Ute's euphemism was a little too nondescript with the "going to the game" or "sporting event" tag in comparison to the "Parade of Homes". Otherwise, an excellent euphemism. Something more descriptive is warranted like "Going to the ballpark". Or perhaps, the well known "Take me out to the Ball Game".

Honey, will you take me out to the ball game? Sure, how about we tour the parade of homes first.
