No, inviting that is like playing with a ouija board. Trust me. She will drive anything good that exists from this place.

Oh, come on, Vik. Mother's day is coming up.

BTW, how do you know she isn't lurking around here like Sooner's mom? She doesn't still live in Dallas, does she?

I think Viking is projecting. Having his mother here would cramp his style, but would be fun for the rest of us.

I'm not saying she's a bad person or bad mother, I'm saying that she would be like the Viet Cong and play constant guerilla warfare here. It would not be bad for me; it'd be great entertainment, actually. I am advising what's best for the board. Trust me.

You think I'm bad? My DNA is 50% diluted by the goodness of my father and his sense of fair play and community, and for the better.

Better to be an inactive winner than an active loser.
                Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I got a boardmail from my mom:

                      $50 that wasn't a text from Sooner Coug's mom.
My mom is dead serious when it comes to bets.

I have lots of Methodist friends and they seem pretty well grounded (compared to the RLDS, Baptists, JWs, etc.) and have great scout troops, nice hospitals, and a good university here in Dallas. I would have no problems with my kid going to SMU. What does the RLDS (C of C) have to offer?

lol RLDS is the future of Mormonism. It would be Mormonism now if the cuf progressives ruled--female GAs, gay marriage, agnostic on divinity of the B of M (if you find your truth there, so be it), express repudiation of racist dogma, Brigham Young denounced, etc.

What's not to like about the RLDS?

When I was a kid, I had a very vivid dream that I was in a horrific car accident and died in front of that RLDS church east of Salt Lake, somewhere between 33rd south and 39th south, and about 27th east (give or take a few blocks).

It's been over 25 years and it still gives me the heebies to think about that dream.
