This reminds me of those unhappy LDS women who, in response to Julie Beck's Mothers Who Know speech, posted on forums and blogs so eloquently about how evil and atavistic that speech was, yet they were so jarringly few in number, and they faded away, practically speaking completely ignored by LDS including LDS women. They are now like the Disappeared in 1980s Argentina.

Likewise, this event will soon be forgotten; indeed, it's only momentous here in the Cuf forum.

This also reminds me of how Putin tolerates one seemingly dissident radio station (funded by the government and ultimately answerable to him and at his mercy) to broadcast so he can cite it as evidence that his regime is not repressive.

Let me ask you this, 3D, and the rest of you sappy progressive Mormons: Why do you want to reform the LDS Church? It is what it is, and if it becomes what you want, it won't be the LDS church anymore. You're trying to put a harness on a zebra, or maybe teach a chimp to talk is a better analogy. The LDS Church serves a purpose in the universe. Opposition in all things is probably the wisest phrase in the Book of Mormon, and the LDS Church is valuable as a contrasting object lesson to enlightenment. Stop trying to ruin it for the real Mormons and those of the rest of us who in our own ironic way appreciate it for what it is. You should just leave it.
