I was about to start a thread for favorite Mormon commercial.

I don't think they're unseemly as much as embarrassingly lame.

They just gave up two hours of air time - let them make a little money.
One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

There is an extremely simple solution. Don't watch them.

I'm a couple of hours behind here, and will get further behind as the day goes on, but I thought that President Packer's talk was wonderful, and I say that as someone who is not a huge President Packer fan. The message was very good, and it was, to me, quite touching.

I don't ever remember coming out of conference saying "My favorite talk was President Packer's", but I may well think that after this weekend is over.

The next one, on the other hand, got a few 30-second skips.

President Eyring's talk followed by that great arrangement of Redeemer of Israel (my favorite LDS hymn) was the best closing to a session in years for me.

Last year there were 272,814 convert baptisms. BYU went 10-3 this year, but with the QB controversey, I expect only a slight uptick.

Why do you think there was an increase in covert baptisms this year? Is it because of the growing anti-mormonism with the election?

                                Larry EchoHawk gets a calling.

I guess being a prominent Democrat doesn't get you blacklisted even in 2012.
