What scares me about cougarboard is that I feel like those folks represent mainstream LDS thinking, and that makes me sad.

The format is like a gigantic college hallway bulletin board that gets covered up in "Buy my Chem 201 book" and "John Birch Society meeting" notes.

I think CB is representative of a significant demographic in the LDS Church that is part of the mainstream. They are 20 somethings, mostly in college or recently graduated, mostly conservative, mostly male, fairly correlated, and lily white. Some of them will mellow as they get older, have teenagers, and get kicked by life, but right now they are without empathy, on the make, and full of beans.

I have not been to CB much in the past 2 years.. Browsed once in a while but nothing of interest lately. And I have always disliked the format and actually advocated to Jefe to change it to this type of format.. But to no avail (Shows how much I count..)..


I am sure nobody there even knows who I am anymore over there.....

I am continually surprised when people know who I am when I make my drive-by posts once every couple of months. I am equally surprised that I've never received a ban of substance and can post freely in the religion category still.

They banned me from the religion forum because I said that ETB was senile (when debilitated) and racist (when not debilitated). It's pretty hard to argue against either of those points, but I'm sure he was a totally awesome secretary of agriculture. At the same time, it sickens me to think that the chemistry building was named someone so anti-science. What the heck?

My uncle worked in the church office building (for the P.R. department) during the last part of President Benson's life. He told us they were having a hard time keeping LDS nurses to care for him without being horrified and losing their testimonies, because he was senile and would swear up a storm at and around them.

Cougarboard to me is a place to check on throughout the day and post up a few comments.

CUF is a place to spend a lot to time and thought. I only come on here when I have time to read a lot of info and go into more depth.

That being said, I find myself participating on Cougarboard and mostly lurking here on CUF.

My programmer/engineer brother told me you can easily tell if a website is pushing the envelope on tracking. Easy I'm sure for a dude who codes all day but for mere mortals such as I, no chance.

I wonder if the polygamists at CB are "sword of Laban"-ing their ethics on tracking/tracing website moves in the greater good of smoking out dupe accounts?

You got me. The password is actually "gaypride" though.

Note: setting up a dupe account used to be pretty easy if you knew what they were looking for to find dupes. No clue now.
