I vaguely remember people claiming that skin tone would change as righteousness increased. In fact, I heard an LDS AA remark how a supposed well-meaning temple worker commented to her, "my your skin has lightened and you look now so righteous." Needless to say she was much more patient than I would have been.

My seminary teacher was black. He didn't teach that, but he did once make a jungle fever joke in reference to his white wife.
