Funny that the Stake President M. Truman Hunt is the CEO of NuSkin.

Just kills me that the guy who writes this letter heads a corporation where the entire business is based on fraudulent claims, and uses a business model that exploits and extracts money from the most vulnerable people in society by means of lies -- selling false hope of income and wealth in addition to its fraudulent products.

And it's Snuffer that stands against Jesus Christ here and this NuSkin guy who represents the interests of Jesus Christ and His Church?!

Totally ridiculous. Boy you can't make this stuff up.

Turns out Snuffer lives in my parents stake, the stake I grew up in. I wonder how well my parents know Brother Snuffer.

Based on the letter Snuffer posted, this has been a long time coming and is probably due to a lot more than what is encapsulated in that book synposis.

The letter indicates that it is the book and says that if he pulls the book from distribution he can avoid the discipline. If they are lying about the real reasons then the whole thing is even more shameful.

That said, it would probably be extra humiliating for a kind of neo-mystic like Snuffer to get ex-ed by the CEO of NuSkin. We're a weird church.

In another life I worked for one NuSkin's biggest Utah competitors. I was in a position where I got to witness, up close, the seedy underbelly of the world of MLM. It's a dirty, filthy business. I've got stories.

No, but I listened to the 2.5 hr podcast of his interview where he discusses the same topics. I started the podcast expecting to listen to the ramblings of a nut, but was surprised how tame it was. He is a bright, articulate guy.

That suggests to me that there may be some particular aspect of that book that is problematic (and maybe not his views generally). Hence my suggestion that it might be good to know about what he specifically wrote in that book, rather than about his views in general.

He is pretty critical of how the church is managed now. I suspect that is what they are labeling as apostasy. Not supporting the Brethren.
