Something tells me this is not how the church wants to be seen on these issues.Originally posted by Solon View PostInteresting little article in The Economist today.

The article points to the LDS church changing policy/receiving revelation on polygamy and black/priesthood as a model for Eric Fehrnstrom's (a Romney' adviser) "Etch-a-Sketch" comment about shaking it up and starting over, making the point that Romney's willingness to adapt might be linked to the LDS church's ability to change in the face of popular pressure.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

I think if you go back through my posts carefully, you'll find at least one post where I said I was going to vote for Romney.Originally posted by All-American View PostIf you were really related to Romney, you would have changed your position by now. That which may be asserted without evidence may be dismissed without evidence. -C. You're not a real Mormon.Originally posted by SoonerCoug View PostI want to make a bumper sticker that says: "I'm Mitt Romney's 2nd cousin, and I'm voting for Obama.""Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I came to a similar conclusion months ago. Romney's flip-flopping fits right into the classic argument that Mormons talk out of both sides of their mouths.Originally posted by Solon View PostInteresting little article in The Economist today.

What politician doesn't flip flop? Come on, name one?Originally posted by Sleeping in EQ View PostI came to a similar conclusion months ago. Romney's flip-flopping fits right into the classic argument that Mormons talk out of both sides of their mouths.
I assume you can then label it fits the classic argument that, Catholics, Evangelicals, Muslims, Atheists and Jews all talk out both sides of their mouths.
Romney's dad didn't talk out both sides of his mouth. Maybe he learned from him you can't survive in big time politics by doing so.
