    A young man has to be ordained a deacon to do baptisms for the dead. Nothing doctrinal about that to my knowledge.

    Kid in my ward was excited to do baptisms on his 12th birthday. Showed up at the temple,recommend in hand, and was turned away because he hadn't been ordained yet.

                            On my mission we baptized a family. A few weeks after their baptism the two children participated in a youth temple trip to do baptisms for the dead. The boy hadn't been ordained yet but the temple didn't know. It was brought to their attention after the fact and the baptisms that day had to be redone.

It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life.                                                     Considering that New Years Eve is coming up, I always thought it was silly that Stake Dances ended at 11:45PM on Saturday nights, so that people didn't break the Sabbath.

                                                    I also thought it as dumb when my brother would wait and go out to Dennys or some other late night joint at 12:30AM after Sunday to go out with friends as it wasn't breaking the Sabbath.

                                                    Personally my day starts when I wake up and ends when I go to bed. Have I missed something where midnight is an important time to God?

                                                            We don't know but that is how it has been revealed. At some point the Lord may tell us, but for now we should just honor and obey the revealed doctrine policy.
