Improving the way LDS people are perceived

A positive image is necessary for Mormons to live outside of the Mormon belt and still have some iota of respect. My employer doesn't care that I'm Mormon because they think I'm like everyone else, or at least my bosses think that. Of course, my immediate report brings me back shot glasses wherever he goes on vacation.

Outside of a professional setting though it becomes more difficult. Many people in the south are very skeptical of Mormons, but I've found that being nice and taking the first step of breaking the ice is a great way to get over it all. I've had some interesting and great conversations about Mormonism both at work and in my neighborhood.

There's no more conspiracy than there is a reason to fret over the fact that, generally speaking, ignorant people have an unfavorable opinion of Mormons.

I don't get the reasoning there. Orange county is a very conservative, republican county. Orange county would give us good results. Are you saying the results could even be worse?

As far as I can see no one has posted all of the results only a summation of certain results. What were some of the control questions asked in the poll? Who exactly was polled? How many people were polled ... Before I begin running around with waving my hands in the air in a panic I'd like to know a little more information.

However, ultimately, at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is how my neighbors, coworkers and immediate community perceives me and my Mormonism. That is something I can, within reason, influence.

Obviously we have to discount the study about Mormons being looked at unfavorably until it has been vetted by FAIR test scores in public schools are higher.
