His son while he was miss president was in my mission and I had to sit with him for 3 days when he got his appendix out.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostLynn G Robbins - "be" vs "do" talk...my mission prez.

The highlight for the puffy check......the very end of the telecast, after the final session, right before the credits....the camera shows the GAs filing out and then it pans back.....for a few seconds, a kid that was standing in front of the camera in the audience turns around and mugs for the camera, about a foot away from the lens. They immediately cut away to some outside shots. My wife replayed that over and over for them.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Father or son. Loved the talk. Wonder if changing river is a be or do.Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostHis son while he was miss president was in my mission and I had to sit with him for 3 days when he got his appendix out.

You can feel good knowing you did it on your own time. I really wonder how many guys this will really affect.Originally posted by All-American View PostGood conference. I enjoyed it more than usual. That may be related to the number of marriage talks and my current relationship status.

The problem is it will likely affect the wrong ones. A bunch of brand new RM's who think they need to get engaged in the next month.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostYou can feel good knowing you did it on your own time. The more I think about Holland's talk, the more I like it. Telling people that the leaders have a sacred responsibility to cry repentance, and that if you think they talk too much about porn or bad parenting, and it doesn't apply to you, don't worry about it, but look forward to the message that is meant for you.
Good stuff, even if he was calling the prophet an angel."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

Agreed. I also liked the part about the Sermon on the Mount. Pointing out the importance of the beatitudes AND the straight and narrow path. Fits pretty well with a lot of the grace AND works stuff we've been discussing here on CUF.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostThe more I think about Holland's talk, the more I like it. And of course, the "little bedlamites", which was funny, but the message was good too. The important part is that you're trying. Doing "all that you can do" which admittedly may not be as much as you'd like.
Great talk. One of my two favorites of the conference."It's true that everything happens for a reason. Just remember that sometimes that reason is that you did something really, really, stupid."

case in point, a recent fb status update from my cousin.Originally posted by FMCoug View PostThe problem is it will likely affect the wrong ones. A bunch of brand new RM's who think they need to get engaged in the next month.
just had someone try to use a pick-up line on her that started with: Well, they hit us pretty hard during Priesthood Session about that whole marriage thing... so I thought maybe we could um, well... you know.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

It was a great talk. I haven't felt guilty when only one or two talks inspire me, but now I have an Apostle I can point to who said it is OK.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostThe more I think about Holland's talk, the more I like it. It is also means because a talk wasn't inspirational to me, it doesn't mean it wasn't valuable to someone else.
