Ha ha! As you seem to carry with you a bias against U-Mo's I think I'll pass on the pellegrino-approved re-education camp.

It takes a lot of courage to step forward and admit you need help. Don't let fear prevent you from taking the next step.

If you two are done with the infighting, can someone confirm whether only the Grand Wizard wears red robes?

I never see anyone use the front doors of the chapel. I always assumed they must be locked.

I'm glad they weren't in that situation.

We had one door in the chapel that led directly outside. I always wondered why it was there. Then one day I attended a funeral there and found out the door was incredibly useful for funerals.

We had a special announcement made this Sunday and I was wondering if anyone else had a similar one made in their ward.

During the Sac meeting announcements, the 1st counselor asked all adults to remain seated after Sacrament for an important announcement from the First Presidency (he excused primary and teachers to get ready for their SS classes).

After Sac meeting, they went through around 10 minutes of talking about the importance of sacrifice and of the sacred nature of our meeting houses. Then they read a letter from the FP that was dated over a decade ago. The big announcement was that effective immediately, each ward would be taking charge of building cleanup, including vacuuming, taking out trash, cleaning chalkboards, dusting, etc. The wards would take turns throughout the year and each family was expected to participate at some point, if not two or three times a year.

Additionally, there would be midweek assignments to swing by the chapel and do some clean up after activities such as mutual or institute.

My question: why is this an announcement at all? I assumed everyone was already doing this. Back in OC, we were already doing this. Saturday morning was building cleanup and we were doing everything except cleaning the bathrooms (they hire that out, apparently).

Did anyone else receive this announcement on Sunday? And arent you already doing this in your wards and stakes?

We have been doing this (including bathrooms) for years as well in Big 12 non-zion.

The big announcement we had on Sunday was this disbanding of the ward activities committee. The night before was the our ward christmas party. So does this mean we are no longer subject to ward activities?
