Technically she is correct regardless of EzBen.

An 11 year-old boy bore testimony of how sad he was when his wooden slingshot broke, so now he's saving up for a steel slingshot. Then he likened the wooden slingshot to this life - temporary, and the steel slingshot to the celestial kingdom - perfect. He followed this beautiful allegory up with a testimony on perseverance and keeping your eye on the goal.

He's saving up for a new 3DS, and it's really tough because there are so many other things out there he'd like to buy. So you really have to keep focused on the overall goal. Same with life - don't let the distractions keep you from getting to heaven. The good news is - unlike saving for a 3DS, if you slip and spend some of your money on something besides the 3DS you can repent and it's like you get your money back. Not so with real money!

This was followed by the testimony of a 13 year-old who said he really understands what the 11 year-old was saying. See, he's saving up for a Wii U, and it can be challenging at times to keep focusing on that goal when there are other things he would like to buy as well. It's a lot of hard work saving up for that Wii U. And really, depending on your gaming console of choice, you can just be kind of good in life and get a telestial level console. Or you can work a little harder at being good and get a terrestial level gaming console. Or you can work really hard at being good, stay focused on that goal, and get a celestial level gaming console.

I suspect there are some here who would question what kingdom he's shooting for if he's saving up for a Wii U as his console of choice.

These testimonies were particularly awesome since they came from the Bishop's son and YM President's son.

I am glad everyone gets into at least the bottom kingdom. I am such a cynic which blocks the spirit that would allow me to get to a higher place. Those are great analogies and yet I sit here thinking their testimonies were prepared like a talk by their parents. Shame on me.

In my father's house are many gaming platforms.

And those people would be dead wrong. The Wii U is awesome and is what a 13 year old should be playing anyway- better games, more fun. In fact, the only reason I have an XbOne is b/c I'm waiting for Star Wars Battlefront to come out later this year; right now I mostly use it to navigate my HBOGo Sunday night lineup . Fools mock but they shall mourn.

Having sat through multiple testimonies by these two boys - and seeing the anxiety in their parents' faces when they stand and walk to the podium along with holding their breath while the testimony is delivered has me convinced that the parents have definitely not participated in preparing their remarks. Even if they wanted to, these are not the kind of boys who wouldn't throw in what they want to say as an addendum.

I am sure you are right and have the personal experience to come to that conclusion. It is also why as I stated, the cynic in my is going to make it so people will have to opt to come down and visit me.

We had F&T yesterday. There was a lull in people getting up to speak so one of the bishopric counselors got up and talked about how he says his morning prayers while walking his dog. He asks God to have his dog (the counselor’s, not God’s) “do his business” in a designated area, and guess what? God answered his prayer! So the moral of the story is there is nothing too trivial to put before the Lord... or bring up as faith promoting in church.
