She very quickly lunged for the photo and stuffed it back into her scripture case, but not before I could see that it was a nude photo of her taken as she was getting out of the shower. I just looked straight ahead, pretending I didn't see anything. I have no idea who would keep that sort of photo in their scriptures.
I wonder why someone would carry around nude pictures of themselves anywhere.

Two guys who came home early from their missions because they had such a bad porn habit (it was not their only problem but everything started there). Those guys are finally back to fairly normal church lives and it has been four years. One divorce. I could go on and on. But what I've seen is not the point. I don't understand the ridicule and frustration expressed by so many here over the church's leaders spending a lot of time on the issue.

I was disappointed by his cheapness. I was just trying to help a brotha out. He called me the other day to ask if I had any extras for homecoming, btw. He wanted get-ins so I sold him some end zones near the band.

I was just telling this story last night. It still cracks me up. At least he was willing to play above face value unlike the MTC escapees.

I think the problem is less serious than the time devoted to it. I see more damage done in the church by domestic violence than we do porn. I think the pain it causes families is multiplied and amplified by the attention and pulpit-pounding.

IOW, I see what you say but view a lot of it as a byproduct of the manner in which a particular sin is approached.

I see what you are saying. I'm just comfortable with the GAs setting the agenda, but I understand how others don't feel the same way.

And I view the GAs as men - inspired and good men, usually - but men just the same, and therefore subject to errors in judgment. I do appreciate the throw-away lines about atonement and forgiveness that some (notably Elder Scott) put in at the end. It's more pure Christianity than I usually get in Church (as I lament yet another week in which doctrine was taught but Christ's name scarcely mentioned).

Porn is an easy target. Readily available and felt to be morally bankrupt. It has a "Save the Whales" warm-fuzzy emotion associated with its condemnation. The actual damage is questionable compared to less discussed topics. You mentioned domestic violence. I would say the use and abuse or prescription drugs is a widespread problem that is rarely discussed.

I've posted this video before on here, but it would be nice if they showed this video at the RS activity to help the sisters learn something that may inhibit their husbands' porn usage. Hopefully this is why they're employing corn and "corny treats."

Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I don't disagree that porn causes trouble and pain for many LDS church members, but that's a guilt issue, not a porn issue. If at every Conference the members were constantly told to not look at women's shoulders because it was evil, then a lot of trouble and pain would be caused by LDS men sneaking peaks at women's shoulders.

Are you telling me that you think it's OK to look at women's shoulders?

I would like to see sleeping pills and their abuse discussed in conference.

I would agree that abuse of prescription pills is a huge issue.

But I would say most folks don't have a problem with the pills because a Dr. said it was okay.

OK, this thread has become imbalanced. Let's talk more about corn.

Here is some of the terminology used in the game of Cornhole:

                              Back door
A cornhole that goes over the top of a blocker and into the hole.

                              Backstop
A bag that lands past the cornhole but remains on the board creating a backboard for a slider to knock into without going off the board.

                              Blocker
An ace that lands in front of the hole, essentially blocking the hole from sliders.

                              Dirty bag
A bag that is on the ground or is hanging off the board touching the ground.

                              Hanger or Shook
An ace on the lip of the hole ready to drop.

                              Hooker
A bag hitting the board and hooking or curving around a blocker and going in the hole.

                              Jumper
A bag that strikes another bag on the board causing it to jump up into the cornhole.

                              Leprechaun
When a player attains all four bags onto the board without getting any into the hole.

                              Pressure Cooker
...Also if flatulence is introduced prior to an opponents turn.

                              Shucker
When a player pitches a bag and it strikes an opposing players bag knocking it off the board.

                              Slider
A cornhole that slides into the hole.

I knew a woman who simultaneously had two different prescriptions for Soma from two different doctors. Her diagnosis was "restless leg syndrome", whatever the hell that is, but her taking of Soma had nothing to do with her leg.
