Actually, it does. It says if you make it, you can drink it.

You don't say? Now I know what to do with all those elderberries we picked on Monday.

When we were in Costa Rica, my 87 y/o former bishop grandfather told me about how they would make "raisin jack" on board the aircraft carriers during WWII inside of broken fire extinguishers. Apparently, if you mix a bunch of raisins with water and sugar and seal them up for a month, it'll put a hurtin' on you in a good way.

My mother, when I was growing up, would make home made root beer with yeast. We would let it "brew" in a warm metal granary during the hot summer months for at least two weeks. The stuff aways had a good kick. She would also brew tea in the sun. We would add ice, sugar and maybe some mint for sweet tea. We rarely purchased soft drinks.

Our old HP group leader was in a commercial with Auggie Busch looking over some of his barley crop. Anheuser Busch has helped a lot of farmers in the Rexburg area stay in business through their barley contracts. Potatoes markets go up and down but the barley has always been a steady supply of revenue so if you have a beer don't think of it as breaking a commandment just think of it as helping a Rexburg farmer send his kid on a mission.

This is what my uncle, a Rexburg farmer, has said.

I wonder if Kirby Heybourne paid tithing on the money he made acting in that beer commercial.

He also smoked in Saints and Soldiers. Brother Heybourne seems to be on the path of Brother Eckhart.
