I've been predicting this for a few years. It's only logical. I also think eventually missions will be either 18 mos or 24 months for both men and women. 18 months if you speak your native language, 24 months if you learn a foreign language.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostPrepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

It was dumb to have an age difference.
Next step should be Service only or Service focused missions. Yes they have those right now, but they seem to be for those that may not be able to served a proselyting mission and are only living at home. Send them to Africa.

Then I would assume that you would get to choose whether you are submitting papers for an 18 or 24 months mission in advance?Originally posted by Donuthole View Post

Yeah, basically the express understanding would be that if you are willing to learn a language, you are signing up for the possibility of 2 years. If an 18 month mission works better for you, you mark that down knowing that you'll probably be speaking your native language somewhere.Originally posted by The_Tick View Post

I may be small, but I'm slow.
A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

So I've seen some unhappiness over dropping the Saturday Evening session of conference. Even some re-lamenting no more Priesthood Session.
Look, I'm as solid and devout as anyone. I am all in, way all in. But c'mon man. One less meeting should be hailed as awesome.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
