I have a sneaking suspicion that you forgot to shave this morning.

P.S., as someone who has a poor record of being clean shaven combined with rather lengthy hair, these stances always crack me up. I got a lecture by someone else's Stake President once for "trying to stand out." "Anything we do that draws attention to ourselves is inconsistent with the gospel. It was okay for Jesus, because that was the style of the day. It was okay for Brigham Young because that was the style of the day."

I told him, "It would be much easier to respect your admonitions if they weren't taking place on the porch of your $2M house."

If I may direct you to my timely and insightful SE post on the subject, I think you'll see that button-down collars are no longer exclusively for schmucks.

Not to breach a confidence, but I thought someone said buttos downs were working class. Fine. I still like them. But does this mean I can only have cupcakes and never any cake?

nah. Just make sure to change shirts and put on a tie before you head for the more bourgeoisie desserts.

This is proof God blesses those that don't seek to stand out.

                    • In G.D., we learned that God uses the military to spread the gospel. (U.S. only was the inference)
The ward windbag highlighted successes in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Iran.
He's a retired colonel who just got done with a tour in Iraq, and personally knows some Iraqis who are members now. I guess that made it all worthwhile.....

My daughter was the first to bring it up while driving home. She couldn't believe that someone would believe, let alone say that. Proud parent moment.
                      I intend to live forever.
                      So far, so good.

                        So what's the problem here?

Good catch. You should have raised you hand. I don't understand what the problem is with acknowledging that warfare has historically created opportunities for the gospel to spread in areas that had little to no exposure in the past. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. It doesn't mean God was distributing the lemons.
