Yeah, but did you make breakfast? That's the important part.

Yup. But today was just muffins and cereal. Yesterday was the big one (eggs, bacon, pancakes under a redwood canopy. lovely.). On this weekend Mom doesn't have to do anything for the camping trip. The kids (this year just one is left on the trip) and I do it all. Cooking, cleaning, setting up, taking down, etc.
      PLesa excuse the tpyos.

That sounds like a fun tradition. Also, very clever because you get a pass from Church and Mom isn't going to say no to a fun weekend campout with friends and no work duty.

Like you, I didn't go to Church today either.

Well, I think from the speaker's perspective being endowed with female private parts would make one "hot". He is a special soul. Not too special for the tea party though.

It stared 16 years ago just after a good friend of ours lost her husband to mesothelioma. She was widowed with 4 very young children. She did not want to go to church on Mother's Day so we went camping. Over time more firneds joined and it has become the unofficial ward cmapout weekend every year. We have had as many as 70 people attend, but with some of us stalwarts' kids getting older the numbers seem to be dipping a little.

I skipped Church yesterday. I felt kinda guilty about it actually....until about 430P.

I get a text message from someone telling me that I was the lucky one for missing Church today. It appears that the SP came to speak to the ward. Spoke for 30 minutes.

One of the main talking points?

RM's shouldn't have facial hair. You should always look like a missionary. You can't fulfill your potential.

While it isn't a "rule", all Priesthood holders in leadershipt positions should be clean shaven.

There is a reason that you can't work in the temple with facial hair. And that should be reason enough for us to understand that we shouldn't have it. We should always be clean shaven as to prove our desire to work in the temple.

Man...I know it is opinion, but some people actually believe stuff that he says.

I found out that there really was a family who won the lottery and tried to pay tithing to the Church. The Church refused the tithing money, saying that it was from ill-gotten goods. Upon hearing this, the family then returned their winnings back to the lottery.

.... I'm sorry, I just can't believe this is true.

maybe the family created their own tithing slip with a line item to source the funds. it got past the ward sentinels but once it reached the COB it was sent straight back.

I have shared this story before, but my buddy used to live in the Chicago area and a family got up in F&T meeting and shared how they had been down to their last few bucks so they prayed about it and put the money in the lottery and then won a fortune. Jesus be praised!

The SP had to intervene and tell them to stop sharing their faith-promoting story.
