  • I shared my thanktheemony today (Stake Conf. next week). Gidget let me watch the BYU game instead of participating in my daughter's birthday party.

SuperGabers also gets a shout out for helping Gidget in my absence. Thanks SuperGabers!

The Priesthood is Gods gift to man. It is how he requires that we run his Church.

Men can't be a mother. It is against Gods will. Same goes for women and the Priesthood.

        Winner.
did anyone get up and leave? There were a similar group of talks given in our ward last fall and several families got up and left.

you should ask him where he gets his scriptural support for a male only priesthood.

I have always thought the term was "thank-a-mony." Is it "thank-thee-mony?"

            PS I am a convert

I don't know. I usually share a testimony. Otherwise I tune most of them out.

How are you defining "testimony" in this instance? What does Websters say?

Some JS quote. Can't remember the exact source though.

Hey, check out the definition of sin on LDS.org:

                  http://lds.org/study/topics/sin?lang=eng

To commit sin is to willfully disobey God's commandments or to fail to act righteously despite a knowledge of the truth (see James 4:17).

I take more umbrage with what the female speaker said than the male speaker.

We have a steady diet of this stuff though, so I got Angry Birds level 1 and 2 done up to 3 stars each. And half of the 3rd level.

I'll let you know next time I am asked to give a talk.

                        Sounds like sour grapes.

                        Just being honest.
                        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

They actually left in the middle of the talk? The whole family? Was it to make a statement or simply to beat the rush to Chilis?

                          • Today in church nothing really stood out as weird or improper, I stayed awake in all my meetings, and nothing offended me.

                            Guess I was just lucky.
                            PLesa excuse the tpyos.

We had an amazing talk by a sister. She talked about not judging others and how the atonement applies to everyone. She shared several stories of charitable service. She and her husband were well prepared. I was uplifted.

                              • We had stake conference. The visiting authority was a very easy-going, likable guy. The essence of his message in his Saturday night session talk was about how we should take the Savior up on his invitation to be at peace (John 13:27, 16:33). From my notes:

This is a great time; this is our time. Heavenly Father has a plan and we are part of that plan. There won't be another apostasy; there's no Moroni in hiding while his people destroy themselves; we are here at the greatest of times.
Delivered in a very calm, matter-of-fact manner. Maybe it's just me, but I found his message very comforting.
