        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

          • Dropped by Elders Quorum for a lesson about Peacemakers. After 10 minutes, which included a diatribe about the media, cancel culture, liberals, how there didn't used to be so many gays, and how Harry Reid lost his eye because his brother attacked him, I nope'd out.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they tend to hang out in the foyer.

If you don't call them out, there will be no cost for saying dumb stuff like this and it will continue.

I thought it was the mob that attacked Harry Reid?

                      • Old fb coach friends with Joseph Fielding McConkies son. Go visit on Sunday he was in the middle of nfl games. Said don’t let it get in way of church. Brm was last in neighborhood to get tv, someone gave him one. He didn’t watch much tv, JFS Wednesday nights reserved for boxing on tv though. No visits. Reflections of son. I quoted BRM saying don’t make it sin to open books after church work done. Church BOOJ author watching games on Sunday. They were pleasant people to be around McConkies. Those that knew them.

Also learned five year old son of ss teacher asked if today was slow Sunday or Fast Sunday. Gets candy bar from Bishops office on slow Sunday.

Paul Dunn used to observe the sabbath with a set of Pings and a MAXFLI.

Maxfli's were great balls in the early 90's.

                          • All the dentistry talk in the other forum reminded me of an interesting talk on Sunday during which a woman spoke of her father who died recently. For several years he served as the dentist for U.S. Special Forces in Europe. One of his tasks was to remove dental work previously performed in the U.S. from the mouths of servicemen and, uh, others who were being sent behind the Iron Curtain, since American dental work was clearly different (and better) than what the locals ever got and the servicemen needed to conceal their identity. So he would replace the good dental work with the crap work done behind the Iron Curtain.

And you guys complain about unnecessary or poorly installed crowns...

Haha. I had a US Army dentist work on me in Iraq. I'm pretty sure he could have passed for a Soviet dentist. I'm not even exaggerating.

                              • Our ward has two classes that are taught for adults for Sunday School. One is Come Follow Me, and the other is the Strengthening Marriage class. I've been attending the latter, and it's been well done--taught by the previous bishop. Sister Diddley teaches Primary, so I summarize the class for her. It's already made a difference in our marriage. I have much room for improvement, but I'm hopeful.

I love the resources we have in our church to help us be better people and live life better.
