Something about reverence, President Uchdorf and youth conference. Pretty sure someone was crying and made a joke about it because I remember people laughing. If I learn anything else I'll be sure to post.

What if a woman took your empty cup, put it to their lips and felt your lip warmth? That would be like kissing one of the sisters in your ward. Might want to talk to the Bish about that.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostDidn't learn anything but I felt like mixing things up so during Sacrament, I took the water, drank it, and then put the cup back into the cup holder tray rather than throwing it into the middle sections.Get confident, stupid

I pre-chill my lips before going to Church otherwise I would be having all sorts of problems every week.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostWhat if a woman took your empty cup, put it to their lips and felt your lip warmth? Someone just quoted DOM from 1976
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

...that Clark Addison is a very adept choir director. Under his direction the choir performed Joy in the Morning and did it very well. Our director would kill for a soprano as good as CA's daughter.
I also learned that my most excellent grandson and I get along superbly, especially when we're walking the halls during the 2nd and 3rd hours.

In Sunday School we learned about the new stricter guidelines for submitting names. And the editorial add on that the reason for these changes is because the millennium is getting closer so there will be plenty of time to do the work. Also the reason they are being strict about only submitting direct ancestors is because we've been preventing others from the opportunity to do their ancestors work. Apparently it has nothing to do with the repeated PR nightmares of the holocaust victims, etc. I love church spin and how the masses slurp it up.Originally posted by clackamascoug View PostThe following phrase was heard during the opening prayer. "and with three clicks of a mouse, our geneology work can be accomplished."

The rest of us rarely bother to think about our actions." --Solon

That's unfortunate, because the more priesthood holders you have in the circle, the greater the blessing will be.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostI was able to bless my firstborn. I was surprisingly nervous but managed to stay coherent and not drop her.
My parents made the trip out but even with my dad there were only 4 in the circle. It was a great day.

I know. The most powerful I saw was my cousin's kid's blessing in Provo. I am not exaggerating that there were easily 25 people in the circle. About 10 of them ended up in a penninsula coming off the circle and weren't anywhere near the baby. I was grateful I had showed up late in a black shirt and no tie so there were no questions as to why I didn't join the scrum.Originally posted by Bo Diddley View PostThat's unfortunate, because the more priesthood holders you have in the circle, the greater the blessing will be.

I baptized my firstborn this weekend and fortunately caught myself half a second before saying, "...for and in behalf of...." I'm not really sure where that came from because I don't know if I've done temple baptisms in at least 14 years.I have nothing else to say at this time.

In a ward I was in on my mission, a guy asked all the Melchizedek priesthood holders present to stand in the circle. Small mission field ward but still. There was 25 or 30 guys I think.Originally posted by Bo Diddley View PostThat's unfortunate, because the more priesthood holders you have in the circle, the greater the blessing will be."It's true that everything happens for a reason.
