LDS Garments: Why I Want Out of This Club

No, she doesn't go because she can't find the motivation with or without me. On Saturday, when she asks, she wants to go and has intentions of going but an hour before church starts she has a million and one excuses why she doesn't go. It's odd but that's why I responded the way I did, knowing she wouldn't go. She asks me, knowing that I'll of course say no, and uses that as motivation to not go I guess.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostSo she hasn't been in 3 years but asks a couple times a month if you want to go? Are you saying she wants to go but won't go unless you do? On the mission we used to visit a former District President who still wore his altered garments despite having been excommunicated for throwing a public fit over not being called as the first Stake President of Seville (cue the music). They were almost wife beaters on top but he made us notice that he still wore his garments. He also had pictures of UFOs next to all the temple photos and spoke often of encounters, none of which occured while in the temple.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI need to look into these short length G's. Yep. For us garments are a minor annoyance. Yeah I'd rather have real underwear but there are enough styles/materials combined with the S models that it's not that bad. However, my wife who is very devout and much more believing than me really struggles with garments and I don't blame her one bit.Originally posted by Moliere View Post
I just discovered them. I got some 32S and they are great. I'm going to wear an undershirt anyway so the tops don't bug unless it's August in Houston at which point I go full on mesh with the top. I do feel bad for my wife as they aren't anything like normal female underwear.

Looking back, way way back, when I went on my mission and was introduced to garments, the complaints now seem very trite.
Imagine a virile, athletic 19 year old being asked to wear underwear that went from neck to mid calf and had a button flap you had to work with in order to take a crap.
Maybe having had that experience is why I consider SU and Sooner's gripes so trivial.Last edited by byu71; 08-12-2014, 07:18 AM.

I feel it necessary to post this link. I think I did in the past, but can't remember.

Also, it has come to my attention that us Mormons in the northern hemisphere are getting hosed with regards to garment choices in comparison with our coreligionists in South America.
My wife's step brother and his wife were in Brazil for the WC and they came back talking about how the women's garments were tank tops and the bottoms were mid-thigh for everyone. Their friends were surprised that hers were capped sleeves and long down to the knee (or even close to it). I have since confirmed this through a few different independent sources.
So if you (or your wife) are interested in dressing Mormon edgy but still keep the faith, then find a friend in Rio and have them send you a care package. Mine is already on the way.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

I'm doubting this and want to doubt my doubts. Please help my unbelief with more evidence.Originally posted by pellegrino View PostAlso, it has come to my attention that us Mormons in the northern hemisphere are getting hosed with regards to garment choices in comparison with our coreligionists in South America.

You don't even have to ask, just look on the shelf above the regular size waist you buy. I always wondered who bought regular length ones, I guess the answer is everyone but Triplet and I. :chestbump:Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Postwtf is wrong with you people? i ass-u-med everyone bought short length? it isnt some special secret thing. I have been buying short sizes since they began making two piercers (yes, I am that old). The length of the short size has varied a lot over the years. The ones from the early 90s are the best, they were VERY short legs. They have crept a little longer now and, it seems to me, the recent full cotton ones are even little longer than the same size synthetic versions. Is there a market for vintage garments?Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostYou don't even have to ask, just look on the shelf above the regular size waist you buy. Edit: Upon refelction it might have been farther back to the really short leg inseams; maybe the mid or late 80s? Yes, that's right; I have underwear older than some of you posting here.Last edited by creekster; 08-12-2014, 08:32 AM.PLesa excuse the tpyos.
