You know, I really dont mind you or SU, but sometimes I wish you two would quit crapping on threads like this. See, everybody that posts much here knows that you two think the church is poppycock. Really, we get it. The thread premise isnt for you. It doesnt call for anyone that ridicules the church to ridicule it. It only asks that if you are practicing now would you be comforbtable in the 19th century chruch. That is an intereting question that is now lost to the not so interesting and all too often repreated backslapping routine between you two.

When I was a kid we had a bunch of ducks. EVerywhere they walked they crapped, making a mess. It was annoying. We used to turn them onto the grass to eat bugs but they would always crap on the sidewalk, where they had no reason to be. I always hoped they would stay of the sidewalk. Sadly, they very rarely did. But I always had that same hope.

Just to be clear, this is all my opinon and reflects neither board policy nor is it an official censure. Just my opinion.
    PLesa excuse the tpyos.

I think I was being more indirect and elegant than Viking. He crapped in the thread.

        Whatever.

Please dont turn this thread into an examination of who crapped first/most.

The thing that's not very surprising is that both 19th & 21 century apostates couldn't/can't leave the church alone.

            Sad really.

I can't think of a single reason why I would prefer the 19th century church over the 21st century church.

This is how you treat someone who is just trying to help you. Sad.

However you want to characterize your contribution to Mormon discussions, just don't try to pawn it off as altruism.

TO be very honest, I owuldnt mind if the WoW was just advice and not a rule. I also like the idea of only sporadic meetings held outdoors, as in the nauvoo era, alhtough listening to marathon sermons might be a poor trade off.

As to the premise of the htread, I suspect that the tongue spekaing and so forht was not unusual to those raised at the time.

It would seem to me that "speaking in tongues" is a lot broader than suddenly manifesting the ability to rap in Adamic.

If polygamy were reinstituted today. I'm out. Fast. Even if I weren't asked to participate in it.

                            Really? That's pretty funny.

If I were asked to participate in it? I honestly don't know how I would handle that situation, but I wouldn't have a serious issue if it was reinstituted and others were asked to participate instead of me.

I know exactly how it would go down at my house. I would refuse it, my wife would make me take another wife, and she'd make my life a living hell x2. Maybe x22. I don't know the number... but in the end I'd rather be dead.

There is no way in the world that my wife would "make" me take another wife. She has made it very clear that if ever want multiple wives, none of them will be her. I comfort her by letting her no that not only do I not want multiple wives, I'm not even sure I want one.
