    God's Time

I was promised in two different blessings that the Lord would heal me. I'm now in worse pain than before the surgery.

If someone told me that they would do something, and then just got around to it whenever they wanted to, or knew something why they wouldn't, and didn't tell me, I'd be pissed. Why, rationally, should I not hold God to the same standard? Why does He get to make us wait and play coy with what he says he'll do?

Another example, "I'm coming back soon," or, that my father would be "completely healed" and go back to his caliing.

"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

That sucks, wuap. I mentioned a long time ago that I was skeptical that a chole would solve your problem, but you were so excited at the prospect of feeling better that I didn't want to dampen anything in this last round. Chronic abdominal pain is such a frustrating and difficult diagnosis that too many surgeons just throw their hands up in the air and take out the gallbladder, only to leave a patient with their pain unchanged (or worse) and chronic diarrhea. Sometimes, doing nothing really is better than doing something. Unfortunately, that doesn't help you now, but maybe should act as a warning to others?

Anyway, about your question, which is the real reason I'm replying to this...This is a question I find really interesting and often troubling. I don't know how 2000 years fits any even stretched definition of "soon". I know, I know, "God's time" and all, but Jesus or Paul or whoever wasn't talking to God. If you're intending to communicate a point, don't you have to consider how that point's going to be received and understood, i.e. the language of the listener?

Perhaps the 2nd coming he's talking about is the one that comes at the end of our lives?

Sorry about your pain. I hope things get better for you soon.

Dude, the church isn't true. Now you have a testimony of this.

I actually can't say the church isn't true because that sort of a definitive statement would be nearly impossible to prove, just as it's nearly impossible to prove it is true. And what the hell does "true" mean anyway? Sorry you're in pain and i'm sure it will end one day as death is certain for all of us.

Dude, harsh. wappy is smart enough to understand this without you pointing it out. The "oh well you'll be dead soon anyway" was particularly unnecessary.

Arch, I wrote that as TIC.

I have trigeminal neuralgia and suffer almost daily for the past 13 years. The only thing chronic pain sufferers can do is: 1) not take opioids, 2) exercise, 3) try to keep it into perspective/joke about it.

              I didn't say he'd be dead soon. Don't write what wasn't said.

You should get in touch with an energy healer. For $100, my sister in law or one of her cronies would be happy to clear your energy. Not only will you feel better, but money will flow unto you.

I've always assumed from his writing style that woot is Archaea but his self-proclaimed huge member apparently isn't big enough to come out to Waters.

                      Archaea is an apostate?

I haven't talked to him for years.

                      I'm surprised that he's apostatized, I guess.

I suppose anything can happen, though.

I don't know Archaea personally, one bit. Just going from writing style. They are very similar.

Arch and I used to debate quite a bit in the early aughts on CB and later on CG. Unless I have some pretty serious mental problems I'm not aware of, I'm not him.
