I'm also confused. Did I miss the part about the illicit sex?

Hasn't the church leadership learned the damage from too much pageantry!?!??!!?

My bishops and SPs have always been pretty cool to me about the temple. I always kept a recommend until about 2 years ago.

The only thing I can think of to satisfy your curiosity is to tell you that my SP prior to my endowment used the criterion of masturbation within the last 90 days to determine whether I could go to the temple, etc. If I could abstain from masturbation for 90 days, then I could serve a mission. (Little did he know that I never would have confessed it anyway.) I think the real purpose of the question was to find out if I could handle 60 days in the MTC without self-gratification.

Oh, and Sooner, didn't I just bring this up the other day? We're thinking alike, just more people pay attention to what you say.

I've always thought it was because the man needs the wides name to resurrect her. After reading this it kind of fits in since the spirit could call forth the body to be resurrected.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I have never (and still don't) understand the purpose of the 2nd name. Like many things with the church, I just roll with it.

At some point, the earth will become like a crystal (computer server) and you will receive a portable computer (white stone = urim & thummin) to access the main server. To access the server you will have to register. You will be asked basic questions, and upon verification you will be asked to provide your password into the system (the new name). Since your wife will not be smart enough to follow the instructions, you'll have to help her - thus you know her new name.

The new name is the keyword.
