I would never attend a 3 hour meeting"Be a philosopher. A man can compromise to gain a point. It has become apparent that a man can, within limits, follow his inclinations within the arms of the Church if he does so discreetly." - The Walking Drum

You've never known a thread to deviate mindlessly from the subject matter of the original post Mr. Lesser Ape?Originally posted by creekster View PostIF all you're doing is posting to claim victory then it is not really a vicotry. I think you and Addison need a playoff. There's no such thing as luck, only drunken invincibility. Make it happen.

I can point to numerous threads throughout this board where the original question is lost in the swirling mists of time. Exhibit A being this thread.Originally posted by creekster View PostYou're doing it again, i see. There's no such thing as luck, only drunken invincibility. Make it happen.

Incorrect. You've leveled a serious charge here, one that demands further discussion.Originally posted by creekster View PostYour defensiveness proves I am right. Otherwise, you would stop posting about it.There's no such thing as luck, only drunken invincibility. Make it happen.

When I took over as HP Group Leader three years ago, I kept the assistants and secretary of my predecessor. I wrapped up our first leadership meeting in about 30 minutes, and the others sat staring at me as if my hair were on fire. I asked what the problem was, and they (converts, all of them) said all of their previous leadership meetings were typically 2+ hours long. I noted that my predecessor was long retired and probably relished long meetings for sake of companionship, that I wasn't and didn't, and that no administrative meeting should ever go more than one hour. Hearts were gladdened, tears were shed, and I was able to get back quickly to board goings on. I was no more effective or any better than my predecessor, but I achieved similar incompetence in less time.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostShe is not exaggerating about 3 hour meetings. I have been sitting at home during these meetings wondering what in the Hell could they be talking about for 3 hours.

This would make a great politcal platform. If you ever decide to run for prophet you've got my vote.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostThe DDD Doctrine dictates that the Sunday School hour at Church be used for, amongst other things:
1. Presidency/leadership/planning meetings
2. End-of-month home teaching
3. Foyeurism
4. Quick visits to the house (if you live nearby)
5. Sunday School
6. Walking around the hallways looking busy, pretending to be searching for the Bishop, or randomly looking in classroom windows.
All of the above are acceptable.
