At BYU I was the SS President. The Bishop wouldn't let me call a woman as a counselor, so I called one as Secretary and didn't call any counselors. I will say that my motives were probably not completely pure.

At Ricks I was 1st councilor in the SS and was in charge of the reports. I had the secretary come over to go over the rolls and we ended up rolling each other. College was a good time.

Since you don't seem to know me that well, you should know that I'm not serious. The real reason is that I haven't had time to invest 30 mins in question-after-question that no one answers this semester.

"Shall be" does not equal "are."

              You are foreordained, not pre-destined.

Did he ever live in Arizona? Does he have a son with the same name? I seem to recall a friend of a friend marrying a guy with the exact same name, but this guy is in his early 30s. It is a unique name.

This post by Lingo, even if tongue-in-cheek, is misogynistic. The attitude exemplified in this post is the unfortunate byproduct of these "traditions with no basis" like not inviting women to speak in General Conference.

I asked about this once, and was told that this rule of thumb was to minimize the danger of both spouses forgetting their assignment, and having no speakers (or prayers). I guess the ward had been burned a few times.
I haven't seen anything in writing but I was told that we avoid husband-wife prayers in our stake because we don't want to leave anyone out, which seems like an excellent (and the best) reason.

It's in writing - in the handbook of instructions (I posted it elsewhere in this thread).

I gave you a wink. If you're going to be this demanding, I don't think this relationship is going to work out.

I was being sarcastic in my apology. In fact, I tend to be sarcastic in 75% of my posts, however truth be told there is always a little truth in every sarcastic remark.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. • I didn't see this mentioned elsewhere (maybe it was) but the folks who brought you "Wear Pants to Church Day" are now bringing you "Let Women Pray."

                              http://www.facebook.com/LetWomenPray

While women hold important positions within the church, a woman has never given the opening or closing prayer at General Conference. We ask that women be given the opportunity to pray in General Conference, as a symbol of equality within our church.

The church should one up this group and give all GC prayer responsibilities to the women. That way, it would appear as if prayer were a task below men but the women couldn't complain because they got all that they wanted and more.
