last time I was at BBQ Galore I bought some John Henry's Mojave Garlic Pepper. It is fantastic! I have used it on steaks and also on salmon. Its great! My daughter doesnt like salmon very much but she devoured 2 pieces grilled with this rub on there. I am going to try some on tri-tip next.

By the way, I forgot to mention the cowtown rub with cowtown sauce was really freaking good on ribs. Haven't tried it on anything else, but the ribs were out of sight.

What do you guys like on your pulled pork? I'm looking for something with some sweetness.

I used Spade L, JL rub, and Cowtown on my ribs, and they were all good. I think that any of them would be good on the pulled pork as well, but though I would ask for other suggestions if you have them.

I like a little kick with my rub (ie, Byron's Butt Rub) and get the sweetness from the sauce. That being said, add more sugar to the JL rub.

X2. Maybe try some turbinado sugar instead of plain white sugar. Or a little brown sugar. Just be careful because too much sugar in a rub can burn/make your bark really dark.

I am really liking sweet and spicey rubs. I just ordered this from a guy in Ventura. It has gotten some really good reviews.

After a second run on ribs, I'm voting JL's rub as my top choice. Thursday I used JL and Cowtown, and JL was definitely better though still very similar.

Jeff, did you say that you also use this same rub on beef?

I have had great success with the JL rub on brisket, ribs and shoulder. It is a great universal rub.

Anyone tried the cabelas brand rubs? Lots of different flavors. I'm interested in jalapeƱo maple. Weird enough combo that I want to try it.

Kc did you ever try the sugar maple?

I have not tried the sugar maple. In the end it just sounds too sweet. Would probably be good for ribs, but I wouldn't dare put it on anything else.

Speaking of Rub's, this has become one of my my favorite rubs for ribs lately. It is sweet, as you can see by the name, and I am a fan of sweet rub on my ribs. I have also done it on a pork butt as well, it has been a hit there as well by those that have partook.'

For those in Utah, the only place I have been able to find it is at the BBQ pit stop on State Street in Lehi.

Is that a Big Poppa rub? They have some excellent rubs. They have specials all the time. You can order online at https://www.bigpoppasmokers.com/rubs-by-brands. They sell just about everything there and at reasonable prices. I'm a huge fan of his.

Just a tip: I discovered earlier this week that a little Spade L Ranch beef rub sprinkled into your ground beef with some onion, salt, and pepper makes a very tasty burger.

Spade L Ranch has become my favorite rub company.

To answer Triplet I've used the Cabellas stuff and it's generally pretty good.
