Someone had recommended Plowboys for brisket a while back, but like I said, I wasn't overly impressed. I'll try it on pork next time. Plowboys, Obie, Black Ops...where do you get these? Can you find all three at the Pit Stop in Lehi? Are any of them at the grocery store?Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostPlowboys is best on pork although they claim it is all purpose. I wouldn't use plowboys or Obie on beef. If you want a nice brisket rub and you are in the mood for something more than salt and pepper, try Black Ops. That stuff is legit brisket goodness.
For shoulder, a layer of plow and a Layer of Obie gives you a really nice sweet heat combo. Obie smells really good in the jar. I learned about it from Bam Bam. If you aren't enamored with plowboys alone, spice it up with some Obie. You can get a large shaker for around $7. No need to buy the monster sized gallon rubs.I'm like LeBron James.

I love, love smoking guns hot as a second layer on all pork products. Plow+SG hot is heaven on ribs.

I like a 50/50 mix of Blue Hog Original and the TN Red. I have also mixed BHO woth Sweet Baby Ray's. Actually, BHO mixed with any bbq sauce works. TN Red is awesome on pork. Also, if you can track down Head Country Original BBQ Sauce, it is good stuff too. A lot of guys mix all three together.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostBlues Hog is life changing for those that have not sampled. SG Hot is good stuff. I also like BPS "Money" with their "Happy Ending" finishing rub. Very good flavor.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostI love, love smoking guns hot as a second layer on all pork products. I'm a big BPS fan boy. Big Poppa is who I buy almost all of my stuff through, including where I bought my Memphis. I'm really happy that they've had so much recent success on the circuit. They make great products with great service and BP is a great guy.Originally posted by Drunk Tank View PostSG Hot is good stuff. I also like BPS "Money" with their "Happy Ending" finishing rub.
