FM will not appreciate this question but how far off is the pulled pork we are doing with the pork Cafe Rio puts on their burritos? Is it just a matter of the sauce or is the cooking method entirely different/
If the multitude of crockpot cafe rio pork recipes around are an indication, it's both. But mainly the sauce. Didn't someone post one here that was like a couple of cups of brown sugar and a teaspoon of pepper or something like that?

Don't let him fool you, Shaka. The Cafe Rio Pork recipe is a way to take boring ol' pulled pork and turn it into something fantastic.
While Cafe Rio's pork is braised to perfection, it is pretty easy to take leftover smoked pulled pork (yawn!) and turn it into pork barbacoa by creating the sauce, and then simmering the pork in the sauce for a couple minutes:
12 oz. Dr. Pepper or Coke (NOT diet)
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
7 oz. can chipotle chilies in adobo sauce
3 tbsp of your preferred hot sauce
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Combine in saucepan and simmer until reduced by half
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

I'm just glad we're finally getting this pork thread on track. It took three pages, but better late than never.

Hmmm, I think I'll try this with some of my leftovers.
My first time having a mustard-based BBQ sauce -- it was delicious!
WHAT? :yikes: REALLY? WTF?
There's no good BBQ west of the Mississippi. This proves it if you've never tried mustard-based until today. And you call yourself gordo!
