  • Red Iguana?

Anyone on here been to the Red Iguana? I'm looking to go with a couple friends to it and a hockey game down in Salt Lake instead of hitting up one of the pizza places like I was thinking of, I heard it was a top rated restaurant, but I haven't ate there since I was a little kid.

How good is it? I know some people have said it was really good mexican food.

Here is the scoop.....pretty much stick to the mole. Everything else is average, some of it is lousy. The tacos are lousy. The beans and rice are decent, at best. The tortillas are crap. And the chips and salsa are average. Very overrated place.

If you are thinking of hitting up the Pie for pizza, be aware that that place is also terribly overrated.

I'm not going there, I've heard enough about it being not that good at all, just a cheap place to eat.

Any other good mexican food joints in the Salt Lake area that are worth going to?

            You could try Cafe Rio.

Seriously, we enjoy Rio Grande Cafe, down by the homeless shelter. I do like the mole at Red Iguana.

As for the Pie, I still enjoy it when I want to feel bloated. We've discussed this before, but it just doesn't taste the same as when i was in school.

The pie is not cheap. It is incredibly expensive, a total rip off. A large pizza, an app, and a pitcher...you are out the door for around $35 or more.

Red isn't gross, it just isn't some amazing place to eat. It is really overrated. But if you go, get the mole because that is the one thing they do well. I Prefer the yellow mole...spicy.

SU Casa. Best Mexican food in SLC. Either location.

Also, plan on waiting in line at Red Iguana for a table on a weekend.

It's $5.99 for pizza buffet, at least in Provo? Unless your thinking of a different place.

Which Su Casa is better, the one in Midvale or Salt Lake?

Ignore any of my previous advice. I think you will have a nice time at any of those places.

They now have 2 locations, about 2 blocks apart. Helps with the lunch crowd, at least.

After not getting any feedback from recommendations last night, my instinct told me to not waste my time responding to this thread.
