I went to Bam Bams today for lunch. The lady behind the counter said they have sold out of brisket everyday they have been open and they continue to order more meat each day. She told me they are now selling 600 pounds of meat a day. I worked my charm as usual and she gave us almost 2 pounds of brisket and a pound of ribs but only charged us for a pound and 1/2 pound.
I tried the brisket and the ribs. The brisket was very moist and had great flavor. The ribs were also excellent. Definitely the best bbq I have had in Utah.
Was this the short-haired girl with the lip or eyelid (i can't recall which) piercing? If so, don't flatter yourself too much, she totally gave me FREE bread with my order
I concur with all the above reviews of Bam Bam's. It is really good. The owner is an interesting guy, raised in Heber, played Canadian league FB, migrated to AZ and Tx, and decided on a whim to start entering BBQ competitions. An interesting tidbit: he sels whole (cooked) briskets for $75. Considering the quality of meat he uses, the pellet cost (if using a Traeger), and most significantly the time involved to cook a brisket, it seems like a bargain to me.

It's incredible this thread has managed to produce 132 replies. We all know there aren't that many places to eat in Utah Valley.
Feel free to stop reading!

Nope that girl did take my money, this was the dark haired girl that was packing heat that would make Goatnapper blush.
Count me in among the Bam Bams BBQ fans. Tried it for the first time today, had brisket (duh) with slaw and potato salad. Texas style, uses oak (verified by the owner, he had local scrub oak analyzed and went with that instead of shipping in white oak from TX), the sauces are actual sauces not goopy abominations, just a tray with some paper and meat and a slice of bread. Perfectly wonderful.
Went with a bbq snob friend of mine, he was duly impressed; the only thing they are lacking in his opinion is the bottles of Big Red, which apparently are coming. Turns out he knows the owner but didn't know who opened the place until we went today. Small world. He's doing well, a month and a half in and already paid off debts and running easily in the black.
Looking forward to going back, thanks to those who posted about it!
Woohoo. That is in my neck of the woods. Thanks for the tip.

Has anyone reported here on Bam Bam's BBQ in Orem/Provo? I never know where the boundary is between cities. It's on State Street several blocks south of University Parkway.
I have to say they have just about the best brisket I've had from a restaurant. I'm anxious to try it again.
Made my second trip to Bam Bam's today for lunch. Man, I love the brisket there. Seriously good meat. I ordered a 1/2 lb of brisket and ate my son's coleslaw (good slaw too).

180 street tacos and chopped salads. They have been open for 2 weeks.
Go Now. Eat.
$2 tacos. I had a Korean BBQ pork, a buffalo chicken, a achote pork, and a asada.
Yum. everyone of them.
Wow, this thread has been very helpful lately, with the Bam Bams and now the 180Tacos recs. Thank you, from the bottom of my stomach. Went to 180 tonight after the gallery stroll, had the achiote (super yum), the cascabel (solid yum), korean (super yum) and some of the wife's carne asada (solid, but I'm super picky about carne asada street tacos having done the mish in Mexico). Also a salad with a burnt honey vinaigrette.
Simple. Clean. Fresh. Good contrasts of flavors and textures. And very cheap. I hope this place makes it. Also, they need to get a food truck and some catering going stat--perfect fit for those IMO.

Glad you liked it.
i went back today and tried the mojo roasted pork taco (along with some repeats) and that one is outstanding. I am spreading the word, hope they catch on, although I like the short lines.
Alright, now that I'm back in the Carolinas, and after having eaten at no fewer than 8 BBQ joints west of the Smoky Mountains in the last 30 days, I can say this:
Bam Bam's BBQ has the best beef brisket I think I've ever had. The have no idea what they're doing with the pulled pork, but the brisket....I could eat 2 lbs of that stuff myself.
Best meal I had in all of Utah this visit.

According to the owner, the pulled pork is on the menu mostly just because everyone in Utah thinks pulled pork when they think BBQ and so they expect to see it. Apparently he's a TX bbq guy and mostly just cares about the brisket, I could imagine him fully agreeing with your comment.

I grabbed some for lunch today. The line wasn't long, but the place was decently busy. It is certainly good.

I'll second that. This place has joined the regular lunch rotation since opening a couple weeks ago. (It helps that it's about 2 minutes from my office.) The achiote pork is still my favorite but I'm also loving the chile orange shrimp.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...
None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.
I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.
