Found a place in Orem and a place in downtown SLC that sells firebricks.

The Fireplace Place - Orem
$2.50/brick - 4.5" x 9" x 1.25"

Beuhner Block - SLC
$1.69/brick - 4.5" x 9" x 2.5"
$1.40/brick - 4.5" x 9" x 1.25"

I will probably pop by Beuhner on my way home this week. Not far out of the way and saves on shipping. Which bricks do you guys recommend? The 1.25" thick or the 2.5" thick? Also, how many bricks do you use in your smoker?

A lot of that looks like overkill for most months. Winter, I bet you would want the whole thing wrapped in brick.

It will take a few months for the transaction to be completed, but this is the strategic direction that the SJS family has decided to take. I would have gotten the sweet Yoder that DT has if my CFO would have cleared it in capital expenditures, but she wanted to take it out of my budget. I still long for that beast.

I have no complaints about the Yoder other than in the cold weather it is a pellet hog. I am thinking about getting the thermal blanket for it this next winter. I love it.
