I was up at the International Freestyle competition at Deer Valley this weekend and the Deer Valley Lodge was providing the food. They had this awesome cheese table and I wish I could remember the great cheeses I tried. One of them was a Blueberry Wensleydale and another had coffee and lavender mixed in. They were fantastic. One of the servers told me that they were locally made but she slipped off before I could ask her where. Maybe Beehive?
I don't know if I impressed her or embarrassed myself by being familiar with Wensleydale only from WALLACE & GROMIT cartoons.Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...
None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.
I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

Funny that your familiarity with Wensleydale is from Wallace and Grommit, b/c I only know of it from Monty Python.Originally posted by Green Lantern View PostI don't know if I impressed her or embarrassed myself by being familiar with Wensleydale only from WALLACE & GROMIT cartoons.

This one has images of all the different cheeses he requests. Kind of fun.

I like Mahon. Especially aged Mahon."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

Ah the cheese shop sketch! I should have remembered that one as well. Hey Falafel, you're down in Las Vegas right? There was a great place that opened over in Henderson when we were living there called Valley Cheese & Wine. They had a great selection of cheeses and the owners were a really cool, unpretentious married couple who were more than happy to expound on all of their excellent selections.Originally posted by falafel View PostFunny that your familiarity with Wensleydale is from Wallace and Grommit, b/c I only know of it from Monty Python.

I've heard of that place - they advertise on NPR. Its on Horizon Ridge somewhere, right? I live on the other side of town, so I haven't thought of visiting it. However, I do know, from their commercials, that they have a wide variety of wines and charcuterie - whatever the hell that is.Originally posted by Green Lantern View PostAh the cheese shop sketch! The white Bolivian cheese that smells like an old womans armpits mixed with feet.Originally posted by John McClain View PostI am sitting here enjoying some brie with crackers and fresh fruit. I was wondering what cheeses the board likes? It is unfortunate that our cheese choices are so limited in the United States. It is hard to find good, reasonably priced cheeses sometimes. What are some of the places you can find a decent cheese?
Wait, cheese we like?

Do they have Jamon Iberico?Originally posted by Green Lantern View PostYep, that's the place. Cool store. And you simply must sample from their charcuterie.
Oh, Spain, you expensive mistress.
I can't tell if I was blessed or cursed by going to Spain on a mission. It's been very difficult dealing with the idea that I cannot live in two places at once. It's also been difficult trying to indulge my cravings for Spanish fineries while living in Utah. Utah. Seriously. What the hell? I live in Utah.
At times I feel like the mouse on Ratatouille. I mean, people, paella... You know, it's a Spanish Rice dish.. "You mean like with beans and a quesa-dill-a?"
I resort to buying 2nd rate ham, prosciutto, and making myself a fine ajo blanco and sitting out on my back porch in the scorching heat on a summer afternoon with my iPhone apps on Radio Nacional pretending I am on a street corner in Sevilla sipping ajo blanco, eating melon, nibbling on Manchego and partaking in jamon iberico.
DAMMIT! This is NOT jamon! It's...it's...prosciutto and I am sitting on a wood deck in my back yard in Kaysville, UT!
Get me a gun. I'm ending this now.
