  • Taqueria 27 is pretty solid. There's a classic street taco place in Bend that has my heart. But Taqueria 27 has great flavors, some I wouldn't have thought about in street tacos. We had the carne asada and duck confit carnitas, but I wanted to try oh so many more. Looks like they have a fish/taco/guacamole/margarita/dessert of the day.

We were at the downtown location, just in case you go to one and it sucks.

    • Any suggestions for a nice dinner with a client in the southern portion of the SLC valley? I suggested downtown but he wants to stay south.

Tiburon in Sandy. In a strange part of town on 700 East, but don't let that fool you.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

        • The Charleston in Draper is nice. I also second Falafel's Tiburon recommendation. You've also got the standbys of La Caille in Sandy and Tuscany in Cottonwood. There is a Market Street in both Cottonwood and South Jordan. There is a Carvers in Sandy. Toscanos in Sandy is OK - good enough for a business dinner but nothing spectacular.

            • I've never tried Cultivate in Draper but it looks promising. Maybe someone on here has a recommendation. I've also never tried The Wild Rose in South Jordan but it looks promising as well.

wild rose is good as is cultivate. cliff dining is another in draper that is solid - adjacent to cultivate.

sauce boss is another fun place - southern/soul food joint that i really enjoyed.

                • We're in SLC for an extended weekend and our youngest daughter and SIL took us out to celebrate belatedly my 70th. We dined at Table X which was very good with a lengthy and interesting tasting menu. It's the first time I've had a tasting menu with non-alcoholic beverage pairings for each course (and they weren't simply "Seven-up; Coke Zero; Cranberry Fresca, etc...).

Happy belated 70th. Come out to MSW tomorrow in the conference center and see the Piano Guys perform with us.
