All "African" restaurants look the same to you? Hmmmm.

Well hell, based on early returns, I'd better be looking elsewhere for dinner options tonight.

I'm thinking of giving it a shot tonight. They get excellent reviews, but it's not close to me so I'd rather not go unless I'm confident it will be good.
yes. some somali refugees insisted that i go there with them, and it was disgusting. i usually don't freak out about restaurant cleanliness but it was bad.

Anyway the Budenaa Bread was disgusting. Sort of like a rancid sponge bread with the taste and texture of sweet fermented rice cake that the pake cake truck used to schlep around in Hawaii, but sour. I thought the beef stew entre would be good because I love red peppers, but it was surprisingly tasteless, kind of a bland gumbo file flavor with no other notes, so a little "dirty" taste.

lol the name is terrible. check it out and report.

I went to a "South African" place last year (located in North SL or Bountiful, cant remember) because I really wanted bunny chow, but this place served really terrible kotas. Never went back.

My wife and I went to Naked Fish last night, and it was absolutely delicious. One of our Japanese friends said that this was her favorite sushi restaurant in Salt Lake, so we had to give it a try. Since it was our first time, we tried a lot of different things: rolls, nigiri, sashimi, tempura, hot and cold plates, etc. Everything was enjoyable. The best was their lamb. It was cooked medium-rare and had a light vanilla honey glaze. The lamb just melts in your mouth. All of the fish we had was perfect, and I even liked the eggplant tempura (which is notable because I really don't like eggplant). The portions are kind of small, but it was definitely worth it. Next time we go we're going to make reservations for the chef tasting menu.

This was one of the most oft-photographed locations, by missionaries, in my mission. It's a little town about 40 miles east of Munich. Missionaries would waste remarkable amounts of money and time to get that shot...

Nice, dude. Didn't realize you were coming for your b-day. It's a cool place. Food is good, obviously, but it's quite the experience as well. The valets, the building itself, the views, the dress code...all that.

It's slightly unconventional, but I think that makes it a nice BBQ change of pace. The brisket is seasoned with rosemary and garlic. It's shredded rather than sliced, and it is delicious. I also like the Asian coleslaw.
