Might I recommend the guacamole salad at Gabriel's, just north of Santa Fe on the old Taos highway It is made at your table with totally fresh ingredients. Worth the stop if you are ever in northern New Mexico

I really enjoy their coconut shrimp tacos (Tuesday special). And I have had EXCELLENT pork tamales there as well (Thursday special). But I've also had really crappy pork tamales there. I don't like risk in my dining, so I don't go there for lunch on Thursdays anymore. Maybe once a month on a Tuesday I'll go to the Cafe for lunch...

This is good news. No my local Cafe Rio can take down all those silly "Voted Best Burrito in Utah" signs.

Umm why is a Nevada restaurant bragging about winning a Utah burrito contest?

"The Mexican restaurant was chosen to represent the State of Utah by Senator Orrin Hatch in Washington, DC. Cafe Rio catered a luncheon for the US Senate on Capitol Hill this past December. 'My Senate colleagues are still talking about how delicious the Cafe Rio lunch was last year,' Hatch said. 'I am so proud of this Utah-based restaurant.'"
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

So that's why Cafe Rio decided to open its next restaurant in D.C. Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, California, and D.C.

It is good to see that in times of economic crisis, the Senate is spending money to fly people from all over the country to cook them lunch.
                          Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

That's definitely not following the In-N-Out strategy of gradually extending your restaurants so as to not overextend your supply chain.

But, I can see the virtue of opening a place in DC. People from all over the country work there during their summers or a couple years and then they go back home. If you get big in DC, you can create demand in other places.

I agree. Good way to help multiple industries; food suppliers, airlines, taxi drivers, etc.

Also on the list, coming in at number 2, Las Vegas original Cappriotti's. Tasty subs, although I'm a bit surprised to see it at #2. And FTR, I'm not a fan of the Bobby.
