I want it clear that I don't hate Cafe Rio. I think antipathy is a more accurate description of how I feel.

I don't hate Cafe Rio either, but I think its popularity in Utah is pretty much an indictment of the pedestrian dining tastes of a good number of Utahns (mostly because they haven't had anything better).Originally posted by FMCoug View PostI want it clear that I don't hate Cafe Rio. We were driving home from a holiday party last night and saw there is a Cafe Rio being built just up the road here in Denver! I'm stoked!!!!"In conclusion, let me give a shout-out to dirty sex. What a great thing it is" - Northwestcoug

Is Lake Forest near Redondo Beach? I heard there is one opening there soon. Maybe already open. You could have eaten there already!Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostToday in EQ, the EQP reminded everyone that Cafe Rio in Lake Forest opens tomorrow.
He is getting a group of people together to go over for lunch.

No. Lake Forest is in South County and Redondo is up in LA county....about an hour drive (or more with traffic).Originally posted by falafel View PostIs Lake Forest near Redondo Beach? I heard there is one opening there soon. Maybe already open. You could have eaten there already!
The Lake Forest location is probably about 10 minutes from my house, so I am going to surprise my wife tomorrow for dinner and show up at home with her favorite 2000 calorie meal...the Cafe Rio salad.
I should take my camera because I have a feeling the place will be packed with people in BYU gear (Ute grads will be harder to spot, wearing Cafe Rio polos, aprons, and hair nets, of course).Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Sounds fun, like playing spot the Mormons at Disneyland. Which is like Where's Waldo for people with an IQ south of 70.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI should take my camera because I have a feeling the place will be packed with people in BYU gear (Ute grads will be harder to spot, wearing Cafe Rio polos, aprons, and hair nets, of course).Get confident, stupid

Speaking of which, when I was at D-land last week, I saw plenty of BYU-clad momos. I was not wearing any BYU gear and I was not with my wife. I walked past a guy sitting on a bench wearing a BYU t-shirt. I noticed it out of the corner of my eye, and then looked to see what he looked like. He saw me, and gave me this nod and a knowing glance. It was if he could sense my mormonness. It was strange...Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostSounds fun, like playing spot the Mormons at Disneyland. I know this sounds bad but when we were there in the summer I could spot the Mo-Mos from a mile away, it was 100 degrees out and when I would see a lady not wearing a tank top I would look for the G-units. Diz is packed with LDS folk. I would say 8 out of 10 women there that were not wearing tank tops were wearing garments.Originally posted by falafel View PostSpeaking of which, when I was at D-land last week, I saw plenty of BYU-clad momos. Compared to what's available in Pennsylvania, Cafe Rio is 5-star Mexican dining.
