I prestiged last night (1st time to do so). I did it as soon as I was given the option. I quit right after, so I am looking forward to receiving constant promotions for the first 15 or whatever level-ups. I don't think I will ever prestige again because I don't see the value.
Also, I had my best game ever a few games before I prestiged--24 and 1. I actually died right off the bat then got a streak of 24 kills. It was during a TDM groundwar game, so the teams are bigger (I think 8v8?). Not sure if it makes my game more or less impressive.
I was in the zone (I am usually in the range of 12-8 or so most games, so I think it was a lot of dumb luck). What really made the difference was my last killstreak reward--the chopper gunner. Because the map was more crowded with the extra players, I got 13 kills on it in half a minute or so.
