That's part of my frustration MW 2 is not Halo and I still think I can do Halo shiz on MW. Question about claymores, can u place as many as u get if you have scavenger? Or does it only allow u to do a couple at a time that aren't detonated?
Nope, you can do as many as you want - and more than a few people (including some on here) will tell you that I am really cheap with them.

There was a learning curve for me from Halo to MW2 as well. I got killed a lot when I first started.

I've been playing around with the AK lately. I like it for certain maps.

HL I will be playing tonight, after a month-long absence.

Okay, so I have falafel, Coach, FN, Hot Lunch and 8BR lined up. That there's a solid team of six. We shouldn't all use the same clan tag, though, 'cuz that scares people off.

            • Wow. I thought for some reason that if u placed more than 2 live claymores that it would disable one before it exploded. I'm going to plant claymores like crazy as opposed to the 2 I usually place.

You have more than two to place?

I have been bouncing back and forth between the TAR and the ACR lately. It is a pretty good gun.

what time will this party begin? I don't want to be late (although, living in the Pacific time zone, I imagine I will be a little later than most).

Unless the PS3 is different than Xbox (highly unlikely), you should be able to. On certain maps (I'm looking at you, Highrise and Favela!) you can rack up plenty of kills when you are nowhere around. They count towards killstreaks too. Of course, you need to have scavenger, and they do all disappear when you respawn (not die - see below).

With that said, I present NIKUMAN'S GUIDE TO CLAYMORE USAGE!

                      1. The effective TRIGGER range of the claymore is actually slightly more than the red range lines indicate. The effective DAMAGE range is slightly more than that.

                      2. After dying, the claymores do not disappear until you respawn. Therefore, if somebody waxes you but is close to a claymore you planted, it is worth your while to watch the entire killcam. I get plenty of afterlife kills this way.

                      3. Around corners is one of the best places to put claymores, obviously, but you have to think about how people typically take the corner. Sometimes you want the claymore to be at 90 degrees to the bottleneck. Other times (Rundown is a great example of this) you should have it facing almost, but not quite, the same direction the target will be traveling. Do people typically pause at the door, or not?

                      4. If you are sitting in a spot sniping or camping, and people trigger your claymore and die, it's a pretty good bet that (a) they will try to do it again, (b) they will be wary of a claymore next time and (c) they may have brought a friend. With scavenger, a great tactic is to set up another defensive claymore, only in a different position. In some places, you can change positions several times and get multiple ego kills.

                      5. Never let your red lines be visible to the target. Also, stairwells are a bad place for claymores unless you have a corner to work with. A sharp player can disable an enemy claymore with just one bullet.

                      6. You can also use claymores as a warning system. The maps are all designed so there are very few, if any, completely defensible positions - you can always get tagged from the back. If you place claymores in places that protect your flank, you can hear them go off - and even if they didn't kill anybody, you know it went off and that you damn well better turn around and take out whoever is coming from the back (I recommend shotguns).

                      7. Did I mention I love scavenger? You may have to learn to use iron sights well, but it's worth it.

                      • I use scavenger perk (I used the noob tube for a bit but couldn't look myself in the mirror), so I get those refill packs all the time and in the past have just placed 2 claymores but now will place as many as I get of those packs.

                        • Well this definitely changes things. I'm going to drop random claymores everywhere from now on, in bushes, around corners, doorways, etc. Thanks Nik for making me basically unstoppable now...apologies may be in store from you to the PS3 guys since I'm going to starting waxing hardcore now.

A fine piece of reading that should be requisite for all. If you don't mind, I shall continue reading from chapter 2 of the book of armaments, verses 8 and 9.

                            8. Place a claymore by any sentry gun thou might have to help it liveth longer.

                            9. Note thou feelest no pain from thine own claymore if thou art directly on the other side of the red lines. So if thou has it by you whilst sniping (at the top of the tower on Rust), it doesn't hurt.

                            Amen

I had noticed you used them a lot before, so this should be interesting. If we're on the same team, we'll litter the map.

                              • Well warrior Tenveaux hopefully now I can help you better in our skirmishes. I almost feel guilty playing with you since I blow so hardcore. That's why I had to bring along help, someone who can go 20/10 like clockwork. I need to help my peeps that airdrops don't help your kill streaks, I don't think they know this kernal, I didn't know it until a couple weeks ago.
