I agree. The one problem is the group size. last night I was playing in a group of 6 (all friends). It was really diffiicult to get into a team death match game. Either people would come in and notice our clan tag and assume we were awesome (which we're not), or the network would search forever. Finally we started getting into some games, but at one point we waited for 10 minutes before backing out and playing a private game.

I was going to do the same, but I knew I got on late. Sometimes invites when you are ready to get off make you end up staying on way longer than you like.

I don't have any problems with my headset, but the issue is that my media room is right next to my 1 year old's room and I have a pretty nifty setup with subwoofers and such. In a quest not to wake her up (which would really mess up my playing time), I use headphones connected to the amp. And if I connect the mike, I don't hear the voices through the headphones. What I was doing the other night was switching to the XBox headset in intermissions and then back to the headphones during the game. I'm still thinking it through.

also a little story. I was playing demolition with a group of strangers last night. It was the Karachi map and oddly the team of 6 ended up going into the game with 5 carrying riot shields. 4 of us set up shop in a doorway with one in between carrying a assault rifle. It was freaking hilarious. The other team just got annihilated. Those shields can take some damage. The other team was so pissed but they never broke through that doorway.

what did that run you?

Well, I actually got the prior version of these headphones last year. They were about $110 IIRC, and worth every penny for a late night gamer with kids like myself.

They don't make my set anymore. The ones I linked to are the new set, and the price has jumped to about $150, I think. Pricey, but if you're going to be playing a game like this a lot at night with friends and want to talk, this is a great solution. I don't have surround on my tv set up, so this is the only way I can hear footsteps and thinks like that.
